The most enticingly delicious news of the decade!

“I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been sitting on this announcement for months now, and my publisher has finally given me permission to go public. It’s a dramatic change of course, that’s for sure, and I hope it will excite you as much as it excites me.”

 – Anne Rice on ‘The Dinner Party Show’

Thoughts regarding negativity on Anne Rice's fanpage

Anne Rice released unbelievable news this weekend on The Dinner Party Show with Christopher Rice and Eric Shaw Quinn. News incredible enough to stir a hornet’s nest of thrill throughout her fan base.

Lestat is back!

Her new novel, due for release on 28 October 2014 will be entitled ‘Prince Lestat’ and is the first in a series to follow the first five novels of the Vampire Chronicles. Ms Rice has already begun work on including a second novel in this ‘new’ series as well.

The news is surprising as the author insisted she would never return to her Lestat, that his voice was quiet in her mind. But for months now, years even, the People of the Page, as Ms Rice affectionately calls her fan following on Facebook, have been clamouring loudly for the Brat Prince’s return. He left us with a bittersweet message in the novel Blood Canticle, that he had felt a great failing of spirit, of heart, that he was pained beyond repair. But that he would return brighter and more shimmering than ever.

True to his promise, we will see him again soon, only seven and a half months to go!

Perhaps it was the united voices of his fans that brought him out of hiding. Chattering of him on Facebook, adoring him at the 2013 Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fanclub’s annual ball, a tribute to him and his little family this past year. This year, of course, will be the greatest of celebrations. Twelve years later, Lestat de Lioncourt has returned to us, and, according to the author, his old companions and nemeses will be joining him on the pages of this new series.

It has been a long wait, but one can be sure, it will have been worth it.

You can catch the Dinner Party Show every Sunday at 8pm EST or 5pm PST

Anne Rice and The Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club can be found on Facebook with regular updates involving intrigue on not only the Vampire Chronicles and other series in Ms Rice’s body of work, but current international events.

  1. #AnneRiceReveals #PrinceLestat

Here’s the video of Anne Rice’s news regarding her newest novel, PRINCE LESTAT, which heralds a long awaited return to THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES.

    Watch and share!

  2. I’m seriously ready to throw a party. This is better news than I’d have ever hoped for. There were little signs, a sentence here and there thrown in by Anne regarding Lestat. It sounded too good to be true, and now dreams have become reality. I bet the speculations will be endless. And I bet that waiting several months will seem longer than all these years…

    • I know! I am so thrilled. I woke up to this news this morning, cannot believe it. I keep expecting it to be some kind of strange dream. I dreamt once, not too long ago, that Anne wrote the stories of Khayman and Bianca into two novels and I was so ecstatic…. Buuuuuuut then I woke up ;)

  3. I am so glad to hear it! He always talked about how he needs to be relevant and now there is a twitter tag for him! I have always been hoping for a short story on the fate of Nicolas’ soul. With Claudia, she was in the chronicles again as a ghost but not Nicolas. Is this going to be like QofD with multiple character perspectives?

    • I suspect so, yes. Ms Rice did say that most of the characters will be in it. I imagine we will have snippets of them throughout the novel.

  4. “I don’t want to rule the world! I don’t want to rule anything! I never did.”- Lestat in Queen of the Damned.

    This book should be interesting.
